Terms of Service

Effective date: 20 September 2026  ·  Version 1.0

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ascend Quests mobile application and the website at ascendquests.com (together, "Ascend Quests," "the app," "we," "us"). Please read them before you play.

1. Who we are

Ascend Quests is developed and operated by an independent developer based in the Czech Republic. As an individual developer, no separate company name, registered business address or company number exists to disclose. For any question about these Terms, or as a single point of contact for users and authorities, email ascendhelps@gmail.com.

2. Acceptance

By using Ascend Quests you accept these Terms. If you create an account, doing so is your explicit acceptance of them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

3. Eligibility

You must be 13 years of age or older to use Ascend Quests. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the app with the permission of a parent or guardian.

4. The service

Guest mode is local-only: your hero, quests and progress live on your device and no account is required. Creating an account is optional and adds sync, friends and leaderboards. Ascend Quests is in active development — features may be added, changed or removed as the app evolves.

5. Your account

If you create an account, keep your password safe and don't share it. Accounts are for one person each. You can delete your account at any time, in the app or at ascendquests.com/delete-account/.

6. Acceptable use and hero names

Play fair. Don't choose a hero name that is offensive, impersonates someone else, or is otherwise unlawful. Don't cheat or manipulate the leaderboard, and don't abuse the API. You can report a hero name in-app, and we may hide a leaderboard entry, reset a name, or suspend an account that breaks this section. If we do, we'll tell the affected user the reason by email, and they can reply to contest it.

7. Honor system and health

Quests are general suggestions for real-world habits and tasks. They are not medical, fitness, nutrition or mental-health advice. You decide whether a quest is right and safe for you, and you can skip anything. If you're in doubt, talk to a qualified professional.

8. Premium and purchases

No purchases are available today. Ascend Premium is a waitlist only, and nothing is charged. When purchases launch, they'll be sold through the App Store or Google Play, and refunds will follow that store's own process. Deleting your Ascend Quests account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it separately in your store account settings. These Terms will be updated before any sale begins.

9. Your content and data

Our Privacy Policy governs how we handle your data — read it for the details. You keep ownership of anything you create, such as your hero name and avatar choices. We only need the limited licence to show your hero name and avatar to your friends and on leaderboards you've opted into, so those features can work.

10. Intellectual property

The Ascend Quests app, its art, text and design belong to the operator. Third-party components used in the app or on this site are listed at ascendquests.com/licenses/.

11. Disclaimers and liability

Ascend Quests is under active development and is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or in any other case where the law does not allow it to be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Termination

You can stop using Ascend Quests at any time, and delete your account as described in Section 5. We may suspend or end an account that breaks Section 6.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your own home courts.

14. Changes

If we make a material change to these Terms, we'll announce it in the app, along with the new effective date and version shown at the top of this page.
